About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant Dupont Street corridor, Ezra's Pound stands out as a tranquil haven for Toronto’s coffee enthusiasts and casual café goers alike. This charming café has crafted a distinct niche, known not just for expertly brewed coffee but also for a cozy, almost oasis-like atmosphere that invites you to slow down, sip, and savor.

Ezra's Pound offers a curated selection of exceptional coffee drinks that instantly satisfy both your caffeine cravings and your taste buds. From a velvety latte to a sharp and smooth cortado, and the refreshing, well-balanced iced coffee or iced Americano, every cup is thoughtfully prepared with care. Those who favour a green tea twist will appreciate their flawlessly crafted matcha — richly vibrant with a strong, smooth flavor that avoids that grainy edge so common elsewhere. Complementing these beverages is the café’s wonderful array of baked goods like the indulgent vegan chocolate brownie and the perfectly moist banana muffin. There’s also the standout bowl of hot chocolate, which promises a cozy, chocolaty hug on a chilly day.

What sets Ezra’s Pound apart goes beyond just the food and drink—it’s the overall experience. Multiple customers have raved about the café’s serene ambiance, describing the back patio as a hidden gem that serves as a peaceful retreat from Toronto’s busy city life. “The patio is like a little oasis,” one reviewer shared, emphasizing the rare blend of quietness amid urban buzz. The staff's warmth and attentiveness are consistently mentioned, with many praising baristas who are approachable and happy to bring your order right to your table, reinforcing a welcoming, community-driven vibe.

Ezra’s Pound also takes pride in its commitment to quality and sustainability, roasting their own coffee beans with care and offering them for sale in beautifully packaged 12 oz valve bags from renowned coffee regions such as Colombia, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. This not only allows patrons to enjoy their favorite brew on the spot but also to bring a little piece of Ezra's Pound home. The care for the environment is visible too, with fully compostable to-go cups including lids, reflecting a conscious attempt to merge pleasure with responsibility.

Customer feedback highlights some nuances as well; while the café’s food offerings like breakfast cookies and granola with yogurt receive praise for freshness and taste, some wish for a broader lunch menu. Nonetheless, the prices strike a reasonable balance given the quality and the central location, offering good value especially in a city where coffee culture can often veer toward premium pricing.

Whether you're seeking a quiet nook to study, meet a friend for a relaxed coffee date, or simply indulge in a thoughtfully roasted cup, Ezra’s Pound delivers an inviting and authentic experience. Its blend of quality drinks, charming atmosphere, and friendly service create a memorable coffee stop that feels uniquely Toronto.

Great, quiet cafe! Coffee’s pretty good and cheap for the city, and the food isn’t bad (though it is a little expensive for what it is). The service is great, they’re happy to bring your food and drinks to you and the patio is like a little oasis (aside from the occasional train horn)

Go to the back patio. Hidden gem on an otherwise busy street. Wonderful service. Light breakfast, food, and snacks. Get the Continental with coffee - it's a strong one. Prices are reasonable. Local place. They also roast their own coffee.

Very chill spot. The barista was approachable and friendly. Their matcha is good, not grainy at all and has a strong flavour. Their to-go cups are completely compostable, including the lid! I really liked their breakfast cookie as well, it has lots of seeds and dried fruits. Very filling! Prices are average. Good place for a coffee date or studying/getting work done. Friday staff in a cute café! Tasty and fresh pastries from croissants to blueberry scones and of course tasty cappuccino. I wish they had more lunch/food options!

I used to leave nearby so I would come every weekend to get my coffee and breakfast sandwich. I came back today after almost two years and remember why I love it so much. Staff is super nice, the atmosphere of the place is always so light and serene. I couldn't get my hands on one of those breakfast sandwiches, but try they're granola with yogurt and it was amazing, super fresh, made on the spot. I don't even know what to say about the coffee, for sure one of my top three shots in town. I will visit more often now!

Pastry is good, but the cafe has no utensils and napkins on display and I have to ask each time! I didnt want to bother the staff so much but...

What a lovely cafe! The iced latte with oat milk and pain au chocolat were both delicious, and the service was great.

It is a great classic of the area, and has been around for quite sometime, and with good reason. The croissants are some of the best I tried in TO and their Chai Latte is made with actual tea and not with the syrup I see most café use for it. The ambience is just great, with people all over the neighborhood coming to meet there, people of all ages, and the staff is (usually) wonderful. I liked their blueberry scones better when they were a bit less cooked, but it is a detail. I recommend Ezra's to anyone, but remember that you cannot charge your computer as power outlets are blocked, so come prepared if you want to work there.
